Similar to many off-road racers Reid Rutherford's passion for off-road racing was born early on in his childhood. His neighbor happened to be off-road race legend Ivan Stewart, instantly ingrained into his childhood mind was the idea of barreling across the desert as the coolest thing on the planet. Almost immediately, Reid's destiny to race was further seeded when his father bought a house in San Felipe, Baja California, which is known as one of the primary stops in the legendary SCORE off-road race series. "It was a fantastic place to be a kid. All we did was ride bikes and watch the races dreaming about competing one day." stated Reid.

In 2007 Reid began off-road racing with racing quads. Later that year he raced a 5/1600 with his daughter Jessica in the legendary SCORE Baja 1000. Not only did they finish the brutal race, but also Jessica, who was 15 at the time, spent over 16 hours in the car with him. The love affair with off-road racing quickly extended into his professional life when Reid started Planet Motorports, a motorsports retailer in Colorado selling ATV, UTVs and bikes. Reid’s passion for racing continued to grow as he and his team begin to rack up quad wins in 2009 which included first place finishes at the SCORE San Felipe 250, the SCORE Baja 500, the SCORE Baja 1000 and winning the SCORE over all points championship. In 2010 Reid and his team purchased a 7-2 truck to add to their already dominate team. The team quickly adapted to racing trucks. They were finishing in first at the SCORE Laughlin Challenge and first at the SCORE Primm 300 which secured them the overall SCORE point championship. That same year, the team won the Baja 1000 overall on a quad as well! When asked why he does this Reid replied, "I love pushing myself and my team to see how far we can go. I also love spending time with family and friends focused on one common goal, winning! The sense of accomplishment you feel when you cross that line is unbelievable."

Reid continues to seek challenges in life, business and off-road racing. The 720/Fines Double racing support team consists of highly dedicated and professional volunteers hand picked from Utah, Colorado, California and Nevada. The 720 racing team will be competing in the 7-2 truck class in a full SCORE season, including all five races in Nevada, San Felipe and Ensenada. In addtion the team wil race the legendary Best in The Desert Vegas to Reno race and debut a new truck at the Baja 500.
